Abigail Camporeale '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abigail Camporeale and I’m in 9^th grade at Kings Park High School in Kings Park, NY.  I’ve loved playing softball since Kindergarten.  Ever since then, I’ve always wanted to challenge myself to play at a higher level.  I made my first travel team when I was in 3^rd grade, and I started pitching on that team.  Last year, I was asked to try out at the high school as an 8^th grader and I made the JV softball team where I started almost every game.  This year, I was the starting pitcher and co-captain of the JV team.  

I always set goals for myself to get better.  At the end of the Fall season, my main goal was to increase the speed on my fastball.  Starting last November, I worked with my pitching coach, attended my travel team training sessions and did strength & conditioning training most days.  Over 4 months, I was able to add 3 mph to my fastball reach 53 mph for the first time.  To challenge myself during the JV season, I set a goal to get at least 100 strikeouts for the season and I was able to achieve that in 50 innings.

I am looking for a college that will help me continue to grow as a player and as a person.  I am interested in being a Kindergarten teacher, but I also like Interior design.
