My collegiate goals are to earn my Bachelor’s degree then continue onto graduate school. This past summer, I enjoyed the opportunity to become a student researcher for the NYS Forensics Unit through the UAlbany Science Technology Entry Program (STEP). It was a rewarding experience despite having some struggles before reaching our successes. I want to continue to do research as it will allow me to help others and learn more about chemistry.
I would make a good candidate for a collegiate team because I know how to be a team player. I was taught the importance of responsibility and integrity. I know that with patience, teamwork and a positive attitude, I am able to achieve success. Softball strengthened my time management skills, sportsmanship and strategic leadership skills. Last year, as a Freshman, I was named 2016 Western Athletic Conference First Team South All-Star.
I learned that whatever I want in life, I must work hard, use all of the available resources, and always focus on getting a solid education and athletic foundation. My athletic background developed my character and made me aware that I should give back to my community. When I think about character, I think about citizenship. I enjoy helping my community through projects with Habitat for Humanities and creating winter items for the homeless. I have volunteered throughout middle and high school knowing that giving back is the best way to succeed in life especially when I receive many academic assistance and athletic coaching. My citizenship is enriched through service projects.
