I am Abby (Bethanny) Barno and I am different from other recruits because my determination to play college softball is so great and I have been dreaming of playing softball collegiately since a very young age. I am an all around athlete and have played not just softball but soccer, field hockey, and basketball and lettered in every single of those sports. While being so involved with athletics, I also take my academics very seriously. I have maintained a 4.03 cumulative GPA throughout my first three years in high school, and plan to raise my GPA even higher for my senior year. Along with sports and school, I am very active with my church and have gone on three mission trips to help out families in need.
On the softball field I am very competitive. I started on the varsity team in left field my freshman and sophomore year, and was moved to starting shortstop this year. I have also played catcher and center field, and can play almost any position I am asked to play. I made first team Shortstop for our conference, and as a team, we are 20-5 and are currently ranked 8th in the state of Ohio in Division III.
Playing college softball is my dream goal, and I will do anything and everything I need to achieve this goal.
