Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Lindsey Sutton of Mason, Ohio.  I grew up playing and loving the game of softball.  I enjoy the competition and would like to fulfill my dream of playing college softball.  I am a 5’5 CF/outfielder.  I am a smart baserunner and have been clocked as fast as 2.75 sec home to first.  During my early teenage years, I began to work with a personal trainer who works with a lot of high level athletes, and I truly started to learn what went into creating a great athlete.  I have been known to “leave it all on the field”.  I bring my drive to work hard because I am motivated to always improve.  I am usually the first on the field and the last to leave practice.  My definition of a great teammate is someone who picks up their teammates, is unselfish, works hard on and off the field, and enjoys learning the game from coaches and others that have more experience.  I strive to be a great teammate and I believe that being part of team creates life long bonds, teamwork and character.

I have a 3.8 GPA and will be graduating in 2020.  When I graduate, I am looking to go to a college that has a great Sports Medicine or Education program.  I am looking for a school that is about 3 hours or less from home as I am close with my family.  Ideally, I want my school to not be too small and have a great atmosphere for both learning and athletics.  I see myself at a Division 2 school, however, I will definitely consider D1, D3, and NAIA levels.  It is important that I have a balance where I can thoroughly enjoy softball and excel both on the field and in the classroom.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
