I became interested in softball at a young age. I started playing in first grade, and did it because my friends were doing it. We had a lot of fun and I have enjoyed playing ever since. I was on jv both freshman and sophomore year, then varsity junior year and senior year. Throughout the years of playing softball, I have learned that most of it is a mental game. You have to be positive and confident in yourself and not worry about the people around you. It doesn’t matter how they play; it matters how you do. I have played every position but currently I play outfield and shortstop, but have the ability to play wherever I am needed.
My academic goals for college are to obtain a gpa of a 3.0 throughout college as best I can. I would like to achieve a degree in athletic training, or a degree in orthopedics.
To get where I am today, I have had to overcome some obstacles. Junior year of softball I didn’t get as much playing time as I had hoped for. I had felt that I was getting better as a player and was working harder than the other people competing for my spot in the outfield. My playing time was probably the least out of the other people who also had unfair playing time, but I didn’t let that stop me. Over the summer, I played for the Lady Warriors fastpitch team and that’s when my softball skills were peaking. I played center field and short stop, and my hitting was at its best. I was so confident for the first time in my career. I also hurt my ankle during soccer season back in september. It is still not healed, and softball season starts back up very soon. I’m getting closer to starting to run and play again, thankfully. As soon as I am cleared to play, I am going to practice and prepare for my senior season. I am not going to let anything hold me back this season, and I am going to have a positive attitude. As a three sport athlete, I am prepared for anything you throw at me. This season will be worth it.
Softball is something I always have and always will love, and I hope to continue my career in college.
