Katie Taylor '26 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5”-0 utility/catcher that plays for Shelby High School in Ohio, Jabc Riot, and previously  Thunder Fastpitch. I aspire to further my education in nursing and eventually become a labor and delivery nurse. I am looking for a college that has a good nursing program and supports my academics as much as they support me on the field. I have a 4.4 GPA, maintain straight A’s, and I am in the 2026 graduating class. I have taken classes ahead of my class such as algebra (passed in 8th grade), geometry as a freshman and currently Honors algebra 2. I take honors English and am pursuing that all through high school. I am a team leader, work hard, and committed. All of these attributes go from outside of softball onto the field. I have played softball since I was 5 and the love and passion is there. For 6 years I played for Thunder Fastpitch.Then this year transferring to Jabc Riot. When I start anything it gets finished because of my commitment. I have had to work very hard to be where I am now. It is true when people say life is not easy nor fair. Making me work hard has made me fall in even more love with the game. This sport really is about the more work you put in the more you get out of it. Most importantly I am looking for a place more like a home. I want to be able to enjoy being with my teammates and have fun in the game. I want to have the hard practices but still get recognized for the accomplishments I do make on the field. I want a place where the coaches and teammates will push me to be my best and help me further my skill and help me obtain my goals.
