My name is Riley Koonce. I am a right handed pitcher at Allen High School. I can also play second and first base. I am ranked 1/53 and have a 4.0 GPA. I have wanted to play college softball since I was 6 years old. When I was little my main goal was just to do better than yesterday. When I saw softball players on t.v. it was just something to strive for in my mind. I found an interest in the sport at a young age. I didn’t play one season when I was 8 it was an awful mistake. When I got back out on the field all I remember thinking was I felt sorry for the little girls who didn’t get to play. After my shoulder surgery, at the end of my freshman season, I was afraid that I would never be the player I was. I was right I am not the player I was, I am better than I was. I have learned so much from this sport. I have learned that I am stronger than I ever thought I could be at a person. I have a very strong work ethic. I have learned that sometime you just have to be part of the team. I have learned my strengths and my weaknesses. I would like to belong to a team with a wonderful atmosphere. I want to be on a team where I can be not just a player but a leader. I would like to go to a school where I can be the best possible person as well as player. I would like to get on with a D2 to start my career and then go from there.
