Krista Yackeyonny '21 Recruiting Profile

I have always had a love for softball ever since i stepped foot onto a field. I grew up around softball with having an older sister and going to watch her play almost every weekend at tournaments. I didn’t really get into softball as much until I went to watch a college softball game my 5th grade year, I was sitting in the stands amazed and I told myself, “This is what I’m going to do when I go to college.” My family has always been my biggest supporters in everything I do, they’re the reason I push myself so hard, so I can make them proud. When I started getting serious about softball I learned that you have to be mentally tough to play this game. I figured out that I can do anything I set my mind to as long as you have heart. I was not born a natural athlete so I had to work a little bit harder than other people to get where I am now but I would not have it any other way. I like to push myself in academics as well, I don’t like being an average student so I work really hard on nailing the 4.0 every year. I am a very competitive person and I love working hard everyday to better myself in everything.
