Dear Coaches,
Softball has been a part of my life since I was six years old. It’s been a sport where I can put one hundred percent of myself into it and I can get one hundred and ten percent out of it. It has been a place where I can express myself and be accepted while also being pushed. Softball has taught me so many things, not just about the sport but about life in general. It has taught me discipline, trust, teamwork and more. It has made me a better person and it continues to make me want to do better everyday. That is something I am so thankful for.
I’ve wanted to play softball at the highest levels for the longest time. Being able to represent and support something bigger than yourself is something that is hard to find, but when you do, it is one of the most amazing feelings in the world. I know that if I play university level softball, it will be a feeling I get to chase everyday. I am excited for university ball because of the commitment and the determination it takes. I love working hard and pushing myself past my limits because I know that it will only help me get better. I want to be the best player I can be at the highest level that I can play.
While I have many aspirations for softball, I am also very focused on academics. School will always come first for me no matter what, because softball will get you places but school will always get you farther. I continue to maintain an above ninety percent average and I am working towards getting my bilingual diploma for French by the end of high school. In university, I have plans of studying psychology so that I can become a child psychologist when I grow up. I am excited for what the future holds for me and I know that no matter what it is, I will work hard and stay focused to ensure that my goals become realities.
Thank you,
Maddie Male
