My name is Kassandra Douglas. I went to Banks High School and graduated with the class of 2022. I had a cumulative high school GPA of 4.13 and I was ranked number 3 in my class of 85. I am currently a Freshman at Chemeketa Community College and working towards an ASOT- Business degree. I made the President's list with a 4.0 GPA my fall term. My primary position is 3rd base and my secondary position is catcher. However, I can play wherever I am needed and am very flexible. I have been "playing" softball ever since I could walk as I grew up going to my sister's softball tournaments and playing catch with her teammates in between games. I have been playing competitive/ travel softball since I was nine and have always played on a team that has been an age group above my age level. I have always kept up and have competed well with the older age group. I am willing to better myself as a player and person by taking constructive criticism and incorporating it into my training. I am usually the first to arrive and the last to leave practices so I can work one-on-one with my coaches or take extra reps as needed. I am able to work very well with others and tend to be a natural leader on and off the field. I have a strong work ethic that allows me to work hard in all aspects in life; not just athletically. As a player, I strive to do my best and put all my effort into everything I do. I know bettering myself will not only help me achieve my personal goals but make me a better teammate as well. I believe training and working on fundamentals in the offseason is important to maintain a well rounded skill set. I strongly believe in a family atmosphere and this is a big factor in choosing the right team for me. Having a strong bond with your teammates is just as important as the skill a team has. A player should be able to trust their teammates and their teammates should be able to trust them in return. I believe softball isn't just a sport; it's a lifestyle.
