I started playing softball, non-competitively, around 10 years old. I started pitching around 11. Before my 12th birthday I had definitely fallen in love with the game and I moved into a more club and competitive atmosphere.
I am no stranger to hard work and adversity. Having lacerated my right kidney completely in half a few years back, it took more than a year of hard work and recovery before I could even step on the field again. Once I did start back to softball, it took many hours of hard work and practice to catch up. Everything I endured during that experience made me stronger and more determined as a player and even moreso as a person. Today, my kidney is completely healed and it's amazing to think what an incredible organ it is. To be able to completely regrow and regenerate itself is amazing. That is how I decided to approach coming back to life and to softball. I got a second chance. I approached it knowing that I needed to regenerate and grow faster and stronger than ever in this sport and in life, just like my kidney did.
My goal is to further my education while continuing to play the game I love. Playing at the collegiate level while attending a top educational institute has been my dream for several years now. As a 4.3 student, I am on the National Honor Roll. I earned a spot on and competed in the Washington DC National "We the People" Civic Competition in 2019 & 20. I traveled with 30 kids to Washington DC to compete and our team took 4th place. I have completed five years of Spanish and take Spanish lessons two days per week. I was nominated and earned a spot on the 2020 & 2021 Future Doctors & Scientists of America Congress, where I served as a representative of high school students throughout the US who are pursuing careers in medicine and science.
I play HS volleyball and was nominated as team captain both my freshman and sophomore year of high school. I also swim on the varsity high school swim team. My sophomore year, I was awarded most dedicated player on my varsity softball team.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and fiends, dancing, singing, swimming in the river, canoeing, the beach, surfing, traveling, hiking and training agility with and loving on my four dogs! I enjoy volunteering at the animal rescue, volunteer youth coaching, library tutoring, earth day clean up and many other things.
My parents are Mike Jardin and Lana Campbell. They are the most supporting and loving parents. They always push me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Along with my three grown siblings I also have eight nephews and nieces. My dad and mom both played multiple sports in high school and continued into college.
As a 12U player, I earned a spot on the USA All American team in 2017 & in 2018 as their starting pitcher. We played in Oklahoma at the World Series Stadium. This was an amazing experience, especially being able to play on the Oklahoma Softball World Series fields. I hope to play again on those fields as a college softball player in my future.
I love the game of softball and it has taught me so much about hard work, perseverance and team work. This sport has helped shape who I am today and makes putting in the constant effort and time to become a better athlete, student of the game, teammate and person fun and exciting. My goal is to continue to play in college and beyond and to be a vital and active teammate and role model on any team I am a part of, I would love to find my new home a bit closer to the west coast but am open to see what doors open!
