Mackenzie Peters '19 Recruiting Profile

I live and breathe softball, but I know one day that will end.  Academics are my ticket into the world and to play the sport I love along side of having a great education is my ultimate goal.  I am in search of a collegiate softball program which thrives in the community, builds character, enhances teamwork, focuses on success, and helps to turn dreams into reality.  Academically, I want a great education and pairing it with a great softball program, I will be successful.  I am a workhorse, and do have trouble with pushing myself too far for perfection.  I am my worst critic, until I get it right, both academically, and athletically.  I am a student-athlete.  No matter how difficult my day is academically, I still train in the gym, at the field, or off the tee to better my game.  I have a passion, not only for the game, but for the team.  We are nothing, without each other.  I often take the lead by allowing others to go first, when time runs short, I give up my turn to those that may need the reps more.  I can practice at home.  10,000 swings till spring is my winter challenge every year, November 1st-March 1st (opening day of high school softball).  Practice to be perfect, have fun in the games.  My academic game is my door opener to my success.  I follow a path of success in the classroom first, then on the field second.  In my community, I am a volunteer at a nursing home assisting in rehabilitation and love being a volunteer on field trips.  Athletically, I am a MIF, 3B, C, and OF - a true utility.  I hit for power from both sides of the plate.  I come from a family of hard-working parents, and grandparents, and know that nothing comes to you, without hard work.  I am kind-hearted with my friends, teammates, and family.  On the field, I am lion-hearted - fierce, complex, and hard-core.
