My name is Lauren Daniels. I am a Junior at Hazleton Area High School in Hazleton, Pa. I am planning on majoring in early childhood education with a specialization in special education. I ultimately would like to become an autistic support teacher.
I would like to continue pursuing my passion for softball at the college level while working towards my degree. I started playing softball at 8 years of age to spend time with my friends, but since that time it has grown into a passion of mine. I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about the sport by playing rec ball, then transitioning to little league and then high school and travel. The sport has given me so many amazing opportunities in meeting new coaches, people and traveling to places I may never have gone. I am looking forward to having the opportunity to continue playing and learning at the next level. I am willing to put in whatever time it takes to become the best player and teammate that I can be.
I am looking for a college that can provide the best combination of academics and softball that I can. I am looking for a school that can challenge me academically as I have taken honors and AP classes while maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout my High School career even while attending our district’s STEM school until I reached my Junior year when I found that the High School offered classes that would be more beneficial to the career path I want. I am currently striving to graduate high school with distinguished honors. I am also looking for the school that will challenge me on the field as I love competing at a high level. I believe that being on a team helps further growth by teaching teamwork and character as well as creating life-long friendships. I am looking for a program that will help continue that growth as well.
I am leaning toward southern or southwest or mid-west schools, but will not rule out any area if I feel it offers the best fit for me.
Thank you for taking time to read my bio.
