Hello, my name is Stephanie Esswein and playing softball in college is a goal that I set for myself when I first started playing. I currently attend Mars Area High School and will graduate in 2024. My favorite part about this sport is the competitiveness, sisterhood and how it teaches life lessons. Softball has taught me how to always be positive and has helped me become a true leader. I have a team first mentality and will do what ever is needed to make the team better. Even though my primary position is catcher I have learned other positions as well and will play wherever I’m needed.
Softball has also helped me in the classroom. In school, I use the same mentality I use when playing softball, always strive to do better, never give up and try my best. Somedays my best is just not good enough and I use those days as motivation to improve, whether in the classroom, on the field or in everyday life.
