Coming from a family who believes in and is based around hard work has taught me early, that nothing is owed to me in life and that I have to go out and earn it. The love for softball came early. I remember being 5 years old and going to watch my older sisters play, I would never forget to bring my pink glove and my pink bat to all of their games.
In the few short years that I have been playing. I have quickly learned and will continue to learn many things about myself while playing softball. Some are: It is ok to fail, have short term memory, to let go and never give up on or off the field. Off the field I have set academic goals for high school; always try and maintain my A-B average, enroll into all AP classes and join an extracurricular groups but simply to do the best that can.
Playing softball has challenged me to overcome a few obstacles to get where I am today. Being a pitcher requires many practice hours outside of our normal team practices. I lose free time but gain quality time. I have lost friendships but I have gained better ones. My father always says “playing softball builds character” I had to Google his statement so I came up with some characteristic and skills of my own. I am a good learner but a better listener, I am caring and kind hearted, I am fun and enjoyable to be around, and I am determined and dedicated.
