Madison Hershberger '20 Recruiting Profile

Everyone calls me Maddy. I am a 5’2 left handed pitcher and an outfielder from Lake Lynn, Pennsylvania.  I have 7 years of softball experience, played in over 250 games, and have had four years of private pithing lessons.  I currently play for the travel team, PA Outlaws Futures 13U.  I have the ability to not only hit for power but can bunt and slap for a base hit due to my baserunning time of 2.97 seconds from home to first base.  I’ve had the opportunity to play in five states on the east coast and the state of California. 

In school, I carry a 4.0 GPA and am taking three high school courses, including honors English, in my eighth grade year. At the moment, I am president of the student council, in the gifted program, and have helped mentor disabled students. I also play piano, soccer, and volleyball to keep myself well rounded. In participating in all these activities, I have learned to be a team player and supportive of my fellow teammates. Participating in a travel team has taught me to always be on time, be present, and commit myself fully in everything I do. I’m the type of athlete that arrives early to practice and stays late in order to achieve my personal goals. I do whatever it takes to help my team succeed.

I am extremely interested in going to a college with a strong academic record. My goal is to attend a school with a nursing major or criminal justice major. I am willing to go to colleges located on the West Coast, in the South, Midwest or the East Coast. I am open to any geographic region, My aspiration is to be a starter as a freshman, if I am not quite there, I will do everything possible to work to that point. Ultimately, I hope my college experience prepares me for life.
