Rhyan Sigmeth '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rhyan Sigmeth and I am a RHP, IB and utility softball player.  

My goal is to play softball at the college level for multiple reasons.  Firstly, I love the sport.  I want to continue to better my skills, improve my speed, hit farther all while surrounding myself with like minded athletes with the same goal.  The sport of softball is a team sport, not an individual one.   I believe that the team is only as strong as its weakest player, so as a team mate I encourage and cheer others on but also offer support during times of defeat.  

Becoming a college student athlete takes dedication, perseverance and hard work.  I am willing and wanting to put all of my efforts on playing softball while working towards my end goal of obtaining a college education.   At this time, I am interested in pursuing a nursing degree.  For the past two years, I have been employed as a veterinary kennel assistant and I enjoy the medical aspect of the job.  I would like to offer assistance in health of patients. 

When I consider what would make me a good recruit for your team, I would be inclined to speak about my willingness to learn on the field.  Despite playing softball for 11 years, I am always learning and fine tuning my skills.  I want to take critiques and suggestions from all of my coaches since I can only get better from them.  I also believe in dedication to the team.  I have always given my time and effort to every aspect of the teams I have ever played on.  If I had committed to the team, then I know it is up to myself to show up every single time.
