Courtney Savage '16 Recruiting Profile

  I realize your time is valuable and I truly appreciate you taking time to review my accomplishments, both academically and athletically. I have been blessed with many people in my life to support me with my goals. I remember as a little girl playing ball with my family in the back yard thinking there is nothing better in life than this! I was just a beginner then, but softball has always been my passion. Through the years, I have continued to work hard to progress at softball and attain my goal to play softball at the collegiate level. My work ethic and determination are factors that I think will benefit me and my team.

   I've played as many as three sports in one year in high school, while taking honors, AP, and IB classes and being named to the honor roll. I don't back down from a challenge, academically or athletically. I've played travel ball since I was 9 years old and every year I've continued to progress with hard work and determination while learning the game as much as possible. Since 13, my travel team has played many times in the 18U division in tournaments. I've played against girls who are already playing at the collegiate level and have been successful. As a high school sophomore, I earned a starting position on the varsity team and was named to the All-district team. My height and stature at first base has added leverage to my skills.

   I try to be a good leader and a good christian example to my teammates. Although, I am not perfect, I always strive for perfection. I continue to have the support of my family and friends to help me achieve my dreams. I am excited about the next step in my life and can't wait to see where God leads me.
