I am not the "typical" softball player as I did not start playing until I was 8 years old. I actually began playing soccer with my church league and then began dance. Once I started playing softball, I was hooked. Due to my late start in the sport, I had to put in extra work to continue to compete even at the recreational level. I started out as a pitcher and took pitching lessons for five years. Since I had concentrated on pitching, my batting was subpar, so I enrolled in hitting lessons, which I still continue today. Through the years, I have challenged myself to be a player that can help out my team wherever needed. I have played every position on the diamond except catcher. Most recently, I have excelled as a middle infielder. In fact, as a freshman, I was the starting varsity shortstop. My quick feet and keen ability to track the ball have provided much success defensively. Offensively, I have a consistent bat. I am able to read the defense and make adjustments at the plate during my at-bats. This has proven successful in knowing when to lay down a bunt, hit the gaps, or swing for the fences. I received district Freshman of the Year award and made the All-District Team in 2023. Academically, I have prided myself in achieving excellence in the classroom. I had the opportunity to take three high school courses as an 8th grader, Algebra I, Physical Science, and World Geography. Some of my freshman class load consisted of Honors English I, Honors Chemistry, Honors Geometry, and AP Human Geography. I have continued maintaining above a 4.0 GPA. I am currently working with my high school athletic trainer and learning this new skill. My educational focus is projected towards the medical and science fields. I have considered such career possibilities as a medical examiner, a pathologist, and sports therapist. I am an active member of my church. This past summer I worked with 2nd graders during VBS.
