Personal Statement

I have been playing softball since I was 9 years old and I made up my mind after my first year of recreational league softball, I wanted to be a pitcher.  I have been taking pitching lessons every year since.  My short term goal is to play Varsity Softball for my high school starting next season.  My longer term goal is to play at the collegiate level.  I am a punctual, goal oriented person with a very competitive nature.  I am committed to doing what it takes to improve my game to the level necessary to reach my goals.

I carry my competitive nature not only on the softball field but also in the classroom.  I view each academic task as a opportunity to challenge my mind to achieve at a high level.  I maintain a GPA in excess of 3.5 and enjoy mathematics and science.  I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and was selected to represent my school at the UIL Academic competition this past school year.

Additionally, I enjoy music and specifically, playing the trumpet.  I even take my competitiveness into the band hall.  I have played the trumpet for four years and have been first chair trumpet for most of the past year in the most experienced band in my school.  I performed five trumpet solos throughout the year at various band competitions and for a Youth Orchestra of San Antonio event.  I received the highest scores available and many verbal accolades.

No matter what the task is, I give it my all.  I am committed to the game not only because I love it but because I know surrounding myself with other committed athletes will allow me to reach goals that go beyond the softball field and will positively impact my life, how I approach life, and my contribution to society.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
