Ja'Lecia Pruitt '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ja'Lecia Pruitt and I'm a 5'4" hardworking softball player. I'm truly dedicated to this sport. I am an athlete who knows the game of softball. My important accomplishments were being nominated for 2nd team All-District and Honorable mention of Ellis County as a sophomore in high school. I have been on varsity softball team at my high school since freshman year.

Softball has already offered me so many amazing opportunities and has connected me with fantastic coaches and players who I look up to as role models. My ultimate goal is to play softball at the college level. I am not overly concerned of the division level; I just want to be on the field with a team. I am willing to put whatever it takes in becoming the best softball player I’m capable of being. I fully understand that academics are the most essential element of college but I believe that being part of a team creates life long bonds, teamwork, and character.

My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at a high competition level. Another goal of mine is to make an impact on the team and to little girls. Knowing at the end of the day that I made a difference and tried my hardest would keep a smile on my face.

Knowing that I'm capable of playing softball in college makes me more passionate for this sport. I was a co-captain for my high school softball team my sophomore year, which has prepared me for being the captain the next two years. What I can offer to a team is the promise to always work hard and never give up. Softball is not an easy game it's a game of precision, timing, and focus I once heard that if softball was easy everybody would play it I have played ball for my current select coach for 9 years and he taught me this quote "if you're not cheating you're not trying"
