Softball was a life changing- eye opener. Softball was never something I imagined to be truly into until, summer of 8th grade I saw a flyer for a rec team online. Something that I love is to try new things, so once I picked up that ball, I never saw myself wanting to stop. I have had many trial and errors over my time in the softball department, though, through these hard challenges, it’s only made me want to persevere. I’ve had coaches who made me feel as if I should quit or stop pitching, but I keep working on it. Discouragement is only fuel, I hunger proving people wrong. My goal in softball is to not only progress my skills, but to progress my mental stability on the field. I want to prove that I can stay strong even when things get tough, and I will keep working on my confidence, no matter the score or my performance skills. One thing I feel like makes me stand out from other softball players is that I love and will take criticism. After practices I always ask if there is something that needs to be improved and things for me to work on outside. I have one an award 2 years in a word for hardest work ethic/ dedication. I will stay after if I need to, I will work through my challenges. Softball means so much in my personal life, not only for winning but for the growth in both; physical activity and self esteem.
