I do think that it is worth pointing out that I have spent a lot of time this offseason working with a new catching instructor and hitting instructor to improve my game. My catching instructor has been focusing time on improving the speed of my transfer and footwork on my throws to second and as a result, the skills video above is no longer representative of my pop times which, as evidenced by my performance at the University of Tennessee Christmas Showcase, my times there were 1.72, 1.83 and 1.85 from my feet and 1.80 from my knees. Likewise, my new hitting instructor has been focusing on shortening my swing and fine tuning my lower body mechanics to improve consistency of exit velocity and launch angle as well as improve on my overall average. I will be uploading a new skills video just as soon as I have an opportunity to update my video footage so it will be more up to date.

I have taken the Troutwine Athletic Profile (TAP) assessment as part of the process of better understanding my own strengths and weaknesses as a person as an athlete and was classified as an Engineer, the description of which can be found at this web address http://athletetypes.com/engineer
