My name is Miranda Nicole Lawson and I live in Aldie, VA. I am a Junior at John Champe High School. I am extremely interested in playing softball at the collegiate level and I would like to introduce myself to you.
My softball name is Mimi and I love the sport!! I have learned so much about myself through my highs and lows of softball. I have played short stop for the past two years but I play outfield and 3rd. I am a true utility and I am willing to play wherever needed. I am a good student, I have always been an honor student, I love to read and I enjoy learning. Spanish, history and science are my favorite subjects, although I am not sure yet of my major in college, I know science, history and Spanish are part of my path.
I love animals and some of my favorite shows are Animal Planet, Gator Boys and anything on National Geographic. I volunteer in the summer working with horses, I clean stalls, feed them, wash them, ride them and ensure they are healthy. I also love to sing; I sing for my school and I sing at home all the time. Lastly, I am a CAR (Child of the American Revolution) and I am historically so proud! I come from a long line of over achievers and great things are part of my DNA! My patriot is Prince Duplex.
I think I would feel lost without softball; if I can play while being academically challenged in college, I will live my dream. I love to be pushed hard and I love to compete. I am really strong, I am fast and I play multiple positions. I am very easy to get along with, I have a good sense of humor, and take direction well. I made team captain this year and I love the responsibility.
I am on my way and I love this journey. I know I can bring a great work ethic, strong leadership and 150% to any team I play with. I know I want a good education, although my major is undeclared, the right school is very important to me. I think a medium size school is more a fit for me but I am open to a larger or smaller community. I have visited both east and west coast schools but I will admit, I enjoy cooler climates.
