Personal Statement

I am a true team player. I will do what’s necessary for our team to win. I am and have always been a competitor. I started playing tee ball at age 4. I have a very big heart and love the game of softball. I work hard on and off the field. I am a RH pitcher and corners player with 3 main pitches(5 total), can hit my locations and have good stamina. I am an A/B honor roll student. I’m involved with other community sports. I have a job with the county where I keep scores for Rec league basketball of all ages.
I feel what makes me different than others is my ability to pitch 5-7 innings with consistency and I have a very strong confident bat. I hit my first homer at age 9.

Kaidence continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, she shows a repeatable delivery, allowing her arm action to work loose to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 52-56 mph. Changeup sits 35-38 mph with tumbling action. Curveball sits 51-54 mph. Control is solid as she attacks hitters and throws strikes with all her pitches. At 1B, she displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. She moves well laterally and covers ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, she shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (66 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. She stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as she utilizes her lower half more efficiently. At the event, she was 5 for 11. Mental makeup is a plus as she is very coachable and works hard to be the best player she can be.

Kaidence Gordon is a 2024 right-handed pitcher with a developing skill set. In the circle, Kaidence has a calm presence and controlled mechanics. She extends through well on her release and has a fluid arm action. She drives with her lower half and has a consistent motion throughout each pitch. She resists well on her front side and can hit spots on both sides of the plate well. She stays focused on the mound and can field her position well. She is a vocal leader in the circle and has good game situation awareness. Offensively, Kaidence has a square and athletic setup. She activates well in her lower half and has a soft stride to the ball that creates timing. She has smooth movements and uses her core to create power throughout her swing. She makes hard contact consistently and can hit to all fields.

She stays square to the ball and comes through each play with solid momentum. She has a strong arm and makes accurate throws to her target. Offensively, she has a tall set up in the box and loads back well in her lower half. She is aggressive and sees the ball well to her barrel. Overall, Kaidence hustles hard and has great work ethic.
