I fell in love with softball when I was 8. I haven’t set down my bat or mitt since. Even in off season, I find a way to practice; hitting lessons, catching for any pitcher who needs me, doing reps in my garage and weight training to increase my strength. I love softball because it teaches me everything I need to know about life; patience, perseverance, trust (in myself, my teammates, my coach), how to handle failure and loss and even more importantly, maybe, how to handle success gracefully. I train to be the best player I can be and likewise work just as hard academically by putting in the time and effort to learn as much as possible in every one of my subjects. I hope to take what I’ve learned from softball life and apply it to a degree in psychology in order to help others.
