Margaret O'Leary '22 Recruiting Profile

       Ever since I first stepped on the softball field at seven years old, I have been reaching for and achieving higher goals. My first was to be accepted onto a competitive team, then it was to make my middle school's A team. As I grew older, I strived to make my high school's varsity team, then a competitive gold team. Trying to better myself in the sport I love has been very rewarding. Now I am ready for the next level: becoming a college athlete. Obviously, though, this has not been a normal year. Climbing my ladder of goals has been a little more complicated. My last varsity season was cancelled hours before our first game and my travel team's exposure tournaments have disappeared one by one. Despite this, I have remained dedicated and practice every chance I get. This sport has taught me so much about hard work, taking on every challenge that comes my way, and how being a positive and encouraging teammate can translate into some of my longest and most valued friendships. 

       I can even apply what I have learned from softball to the classroom. I am currently taking two honors and two AP classes, which take a lot of commitment, but my academic expectations for myself tower just as high as my athletic ones. I am eager for the challenge of college curriculum and hope to be given the opportunity to represent my school on the softball field as well.
