Personal Statement

I started playing travel softball when I was 7 years old, I knew I wanted to play at the collegiate level from the beginning. One of my biggest strengths in softball is that I am coach-able. When a coach tells me what I'm doing wrong, I work hard to fix the problem until I'm better. Currently on my travel team (WA Rage 18U) I am seen as a leader. I make sure there is positivity on and off the field. I know that there are always things to improve on. In the process of developing my game on the field, I also continue to aim to be on the top of my game academically too. Without good work ethic and grades, your aptitude on the field could be thrown away. Academics have always been very important to me. When I excel in the classroom I excel on the field. I believe that hard work, dedication and leadership will get me to where I would like to be. I would love to play softball while working towards my career in Medicine. The Pacific Northwest is my home but I would be excited to be given any opportunity to play anywhere.

I had an injury shortened season and missed 4 tournaments as I tore my PCL at the NSA State tournament.
2015 Washington Rage (16u)
Won the 2015 USSSA 16u Open Washington State Championship, led the team in wins going 2-0 with a 2.435 ERA. We also took 5th at the NAFA Western Nationals where I finished with a 2-2 record. Finished top 3 in 4 of 10 of our tournaments.
2014 Wenatchee Chaos (14u)
We placed 2nd in two tournaments and 3rd in another.
2013 Moses Lake Rattlers (12u)
Placed 3rd or better in all 10 tournaments played in 2013. I led the team in wins with 16, I had an ERA of 6.92 and was third on the team with a .447 BA.
2012 Moses Lake Rattlers (12u)
Our team placed 3rd or better in 13 straight tournaments as well as placing Third at the NSA State Championships held in Kennewick, Wa. I was voted team captain and was second on the team in wins as a pitcher.

Our team placed 5th overall in the 16u bracket. I hit .400 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI's. I pitched in 5 games, finishing with a 2-2 record with 1 save and an ERA of 5.339.

We swept the tournament outscoring our opponents a combined 41-7. I hit .636 and tied with the team lead for RBI's with 7. I went 3-0 in the circle with a 1.909 ERA to lead our team to the State Championship.

Steve Fountain Pitching Academy

Pitching lessons with Steve Fountain once weekly October through March. I practice the fundamentals of 5 pitches, fastball, changeup, drop, rise and my favorite, the slider. I have become a more consistent pitcher since I started working with Steve.
