September 2016Personal Statement
I've been fortunate enough to have some amazing opportunities in my softball career, I've gotten to work with professional athletes, former Olympians, college athletes and coaches and I have parents who support me in everything I do. I remember being the only sixth grader on our middle school team, it took a lot of extra practice and coming out of my comfort zone to earn respect and by the end of the season I was respected as a pitcher and all around athlete. But what changed me as an athlete was stepping up and being a leader my eighth grade year. It really made me focus on being a stronger pitcher and really pushed me to test my own limits as well as my team mates so we could reach our fullest potential as a team.
In high school I will give back to my school by keeping my high GPA and helping their athletic program grow and win, and in doing that and continuing to play travel softball I'm trying to be seen by colleges so I can continue my academic and athletic journey at the next level. I value teamwork and sportsmanship a lot, I'm very competitive but I think the worst mistake I could make playing softball is not playing by the book or having a bad sense of sportsmanship and teamwork. I know I have what it takes to continue to grow as a pitcher and become the kind of student athlete a college wants on their 2020 roster.

- Major increase in all measurable from last event in June. Pitching spin an accuracy excellent, continue to work Keeping arm tighter to her body and increase use of lower half which will increase pitch speed. Bat speed has increased, good balance and rhythm work more on engaging lower half.

Instructors included Lea Ann Jarvis, Nancy Evans, CJ Browder and several other softball factory staff. --- Event Evaluation 6/02/2016 - College World Series Select Training Marie is a 2020 right handed pitcher with a developing skill set. On the mound, Marie uses a mix of pitches to keep the hitters off balance. She throws movement east and west with a fastball mix. Marie has fluid arm action and extends well on her release. She has good curve ball spin and consistent with the strike zone. By having more resistance with her front side and having more body control, Marie will be able to gain speed and even more movement with her pitches. Offensively, Marie has a balanced set up and loads well. She activates her hands well for contact and has good bat speed to the ball. Marie makes solid contact and displays power potential. By working on engaging her lower half and having more explosion, Marie will become more powerful at the plate. Overall, Marie carries a great presence with great attitude and manners. She will work hard to be at her best for any team.
