Dear Coach,
I am a high school student (Grade 12, Senior) who has a strong desire and passion to play college basketball at the highest levels. I presently have a 3.26 Cumulative GPA in my grade nine to grade eleven classes. I am presently attending Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada.
I started to play basketball at the age of five and have a total of thirteen years of basketball experience. The last three years I have played with the Archbishop Jordan Scots Varsity 4A - Division One Girls Basketball Team. I have recently been selected and honored to represent my team as a Captain this season. I look forward leading my team to a Provincial (State) Championship this season! I was selected to the varsity team as a sophomore and my role expanded to being a team starter and leader as a junior last season. After my junior season, I was honored by the school, as the varsity women's basketball team MVP. Last spring 2019, I was selected to Grant MacEwan Griffins club basketball program in the Prairie Elite Basketball League; which is the highest competitive Inter-Provincial (Inter-State) spring league in Western Canada. I believe in being a team player, leading by example with energy, passion, drive and commitment.
I understand the importance of working hard on my fitness and developing to be a versatile player. As a senior, I am playing in the small and power forward position, as required by the team. I have been a shooting and point guard for most of my basketball years growing up. I have a unique skills set that allows me to be a tall and powerful guard or a quick and agile forward with strong ball handling skills and speed. I have found success at every position that I am requested by my coach to help our team win!
I am passionate in playing college basketball and studying academically as a college student-athlete! I love to compete and believe in working hard to achieve my goals and win as a team!
A physical description of myself follows:
I am 17 years old, 5 foot 11 inches in height (and growing), with a strong and fit build. I have a verified vertical jump of 25 inches and a 6'1" wingspan.
Thank you,
Stephanie Kucy
