My name is Sophie Scott and I am a starting point guard on the Varsity team at Higley High School in Gilbert, Arizona. I want to play basketball in college because I absolutely love playing the game and it is who I am. My strengths are my tight and quick ball handling skills, 3-point accuracy and breaking the press one-on-one.
During this pandemic and in 100 degree weather, I wake up every morning at 5 AM and go down to my local park to practice. I set up cones and work on dribbling through them as if they were defenders. I work on my shooting, one dribble pick-up, pump-fakes, catch and shoot and cross-over skills.
I plan on playing in the pro leagues after college and making it my career, but I also know it's important to make good grades and have a backup plan. My goal is to study Sports Management and pursue jobs that are related to Athletic Training, Sports Medicine or Physical Therapy.
Basketball is my #1 passion in life.
