Personal Statement

My name is Melanie Sanchez and basketball is my passion. The game of basketball is very abstract and the chemistry behind it takes years to form. I was 4 years old when I first felt a connection with basketball, this was when parents took me to my first community league practice. I was so excited when I made my very first outside shot, even after I realized I made it for the other team...The commitment and discipline have shaped me to who I am today and without basketball, I wouldn't have the determination to keep moving forward.

I am a junior(soon to be senior) attending Brawley Union High School. My G.P.A. has been 4.0 or higher since 8th grade while managing multiple extracurricular activities like basketball, volleyball, running, class office, and church server. I give 100% effort to reach my goals and I consider myself a very determined, strong minded, and humble team player. To become an excellent player, one has to be a student of the game and know her role.

I would love to study trauma although I’m open to multiple medical careers. I prefer to study in the Southern region of California, however I am on board for other school that offers my major.

I'm looking for a coach who is eager to win and hates to lose.Someone who knows how to discipline his/her team. I am the type of person who is prepared to go to practice at 5 am and ready to go again after school,  I'd like my coach to be the same type of person.

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
