When I was little I have always knew that I wanted to help people. Growing up, I wasn’t given all the luxuries and exposed to many opportunities, but I took anything that came my way; I’m an opportunist. I played basketball in middle school because I wanted somewhere to fit in, it wasn’t until high school where my hunger for basketball started. Compton High is not the best of schools to attend when wanting to be recruited, but I love to be the underdog. I want to use my skill to help bring buzz around Compton High’s name again so that many girls that are in the city of Compton are given an equal opportunity like other girls who want to play basketball. I also want to make a statement that it is ok to be smart and an athlete, you don’t have to chose. At my high school I will receive 2 years of college credit when I graduate while also being in high school. Also when I become successful in life, I want to donate to the Compton High girls basketball team because we don’t have enough equipment or opportunities other girls have. Please consider me as a possible recruit for your college, you won’t regret it.
