Being a multi-sport athlete since I was 5 years old has strongly impacted the person I am today. It has taught me discipline and how to be a team-player and leader on the court and field. I became interested in basketball when I was in 6th grade and was asked to play for an 8th grade team. It was a shock to me because I had just began to play basketball and there were many other girls who had been playing much longer than me, but the coach saw potential in me as a player and wanted to help develop my skills. When this happened, it opened my eyes to the love I have for basketball and made me realize how much of an impact this sport could have on my life if I just put all of my effort into it. The following season I stopped playing competitive softball and joined the Cal Stars AAU team. Since then, I've been playing competitive basketball and love it more than anything else. Once I began high school I knew basketball was going to get much more competitive and I was up for the challenge. I was fortunate enough to make the varsity basketball and softball team my freshman year, while maintaining a 3.5 GPA. My team won 1st place in our conference and our section, overall it was an unforgettable season. My sophomore year I continued on the varsity basketball team and was able to see myself grow just within a year difference. My goal is to play at a college with a competitive basketball team, get my law degree and make my family proud.
