Maya Rush '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a good college candidate to play sports because I am committed to always giving my best and I work very well with others. I am the captain of my high school team and I am a huge motivator. I lead by example by always putting in the extra time to increase my skills, have a positive attitude, and I am always willing to learn.  I care about people and my community and that is why I have my own non-profit organization, MAYACARES. CARES stands for Compassion and Respect Equals Success. These are words I live by and are dear to my heart. My charity supplies necessity bags to those in need. Giving my best in the classroom is important to me, because I know that without knowledge I am nothing. I take school seriously and I am committed to being a life-long learner. I hope to make a huge impact one day both on and off the court. This quote by Maya Angelou (my namesake) describes me well, "Nothing will work unless you do."
