Hello Coach,
My name is Kayden Korst, I am a Junior at San Domenico High School, and I am writing to ask for your consideration as a recruit for the 2019 freshman class. I have played all positions on the basketball floor, but generally run the point guard position or play off the ball as a shooting guard. San Domenico High School is a distinguished college preparatory school in San Anselmo, California. It is an academically rigorous school, where values and academics are emphasized. It has given me a strong foundation, work ethic and sense of social responsibility.
I have been named Captain my last 2 years on the team, and I was named 1st team all-league my freshman and sophomore seasons (also considered for MVP). I’ve scored over 1500 points already in my first 3 years playing Varsity Basketball, led the BCL central in made 3-point shots, led the county (Marin County) in scoring my freshman and sophomore season. I was averaging 25 ppg (leading the county) and averaging 10 rebounds in my Junior year. I suffered a knee contusion and had to take the rest of my junior season off to let it heal. I put the time I had to be off the court to good use and worked in the gym on strength and agility. Now I am stronger than ever before, and I feel very confident in my ability to help your program win games.
My head coach, Stephanie Buechner, recommended that I try out for an Elite EYBL program to further develop my skill set as a player. Last year, (my Sophomore season), I made the Cal Stars 15U EYBL team, traveling nationally to all the Nike tournaments. This year I’m playing for Cal Stars Nike Flight team coached by Shawn Hipol. I really enjoy the tough competition, the speed, and the high level of play.
My High School team plays Coach Hipol’s High School (highly ranked in CA, St Joe’s of Notre Dame) in the pre-season every year, where we are always out-matched. While we lost this game, I feel this is a strong representation of my scoring ability and overall skill set to help my team. I scored 32 points, had 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists.
Attached below is the link to this game. I am in the blue uniforms, #11.

This spring and summer, I will be playing for Cal Stars at these tournaments:
I’m an excellent student in the gym and the classroom and will do everything I can to contribute to my team and University. I would love to get to know more about you and your program to see if I could be a fit in 2019.
My coach uses Krossover for our game film so if you wish, I can send you more games.
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Kayden Korst
