At the beginning of my freshmen season I was playing freshmen ball. I played most of the game and led the team in most areas. That's when coach moved me to JV, which was much more difficult. I continued to play and it started to get easier. 2 weeks before the end of the season I was asked to join Varsity for their play-off run. I agreed and was 1 of 3 freshmen on varsity. It was a great experience.
My sophomore year we had 5 senior starters, who led us to a state championship. They all went on to play D1 and D2 basketball. I worked hard after we achieved our goal and got a starting position for my junior year!
My junior year was great! I led my team in points and rebounds, and made first team all league and second team all area. We went to multiple tournaments and I got to play against different types of teams. Some were fundamental, and some had speed and could shoot. These tournaments helped me learn how to play against teams that were diverse. They also taught me to change up my game every once in a while, as to not be predictable.
I am very coachable and am always willing to do anything to help the team I play for. Next year I will be a senior at Cajon High School, and I hope to make a good playoff run, seeing as most of the team will be seniors, and I want to have another state championship in my pocket.
Over the summer Im playing for a travel team called Rancho Elite. We have won various tournaments and are playing games in the Las Vegas NIKE tournament, and the San Diego tournament. Playing on this travel team is giving me an idea of what teamwork is and the many different components of a team that makes it work properly and win games. Defense and a functional team on and off the court make up a successful team.
