I fell in love with the game in basketball from a very young age. I have always enjoyed the game's action-packed, loud, and competitive spirit. I began doing small fundamental camps beginning in kindergarten and took it to the recreational level from 3rd grade to 6th grade. I then began club and travel ball where I experienced the world to another level and increased my skills by being exposed to new varieties of talent. Being very tall from a young age it was hard to fit in in a classroom setting, but on the court, I learned to use my height, speed, and length as an advantage and tool to add to my game. Academically, I am a perfectionist and settle for nothing less than my best effort. I continue to persevere through tough work and strive to understand the material.
I am a starter on the Varsity Westview Girls Basketball team in San Diego. I played internationally on the U18 Philippine National Team where I recently competed in the Fiba U18 Asian Women's Championship in Bangalore India. Our team brought home the Bronze Medal to the Philippines. I also play for West Coast United in the Addidas 3SSB tournament in AAU.
What sets me apart from other players is my versatility, and my ability to compete and put in hard work on both ends of the floor. I am able to block shots, use my length to guard perimeter players, as well as be a threat in the paint. I am also very verbal on the court. I am not afraid to yell and communicate out screens, backdoor cuts, or shots to let my other teammates know what's going on.
On the offensive end, I am a knock-down consistent shooter on the three-point end. My favorite spot on the three-point line is the corner. Inside the paint I am very active and utilize cutting, slashing, and backdoor cuts to move the defense and create easy points for not only myself but for the team. Being 6'0 I am able to post up defenders, and either use drop steps or turn around jump shots as a way to score. I am a very unselfish player that doesn't mind passing up a good shot to create a great shot for a teammate. I pass best from wing to another post player.
I am looking for a college that would suit my academic needs as well as balance my athletic and basketball side as well. I am an extremely coachable player who is looking to learn new things everyday and expand they're game. I value insight from coaches and leaders, and look forward to meeting new people and friends.
