Since starting basketball in fourth grade, I have been able to learn and grow as both a player and a person. Through all the time I dedicated to sports in middle school by playing four school sports a year along with club Basketball, Basketball has stuck with me the closest because I love the intensity of the games, and the bond formed with my teammates.
In high school, I transitioned to playing as a starter in Varsity freshman year, and looked forward to every game or practice after school. Practicing and working hard everyday after school before coming home gave structure to my day, and I learned to manage extracurriculars and the demanding academic workload expected at my school. In Sophomore season I grew even more as a player and received an all league 2nd team award, the Impact Award given by the coach, and the Eagle Award (given to the player nominated by teammates).
On the court, I strive to stay focused to be aware of all my surroundings, whether it's the position of the defense, the movement of my teammates, or the time. I also greatly value trusting in teammates to create the best plays. I want to play Basketball in college so that I can create lasting friendships, and stay physically fit and mentally strong.
