Jessica McGovern '14 Recruiting Profile

Hi!  I'm Jessie McGovern and I'm a 6'0" forward from Castle Rock, Colorado.  I am currently a junior at Castle View High School and I've been a 2 year varsity starter and 3 year letterman.  In 2012, I was selected MVP and 2nd Team all Conference as a sophomore and in 2013, I led the team in scoring and rebounding as captain, I was selected as MVP, named 1st Team Academic All-State and I've been named to 1st Team All Conference. 

For club basketball, I joined the Mile Hi Rockies in the Fall of 2011.  I will continue with the Rockies in tournament play in the Spring and Summer of 2013.  The Rockies has been a great experience in addition to my high school, allowing me to participate in an enjoyable and highly competitive environment with peers who all want to improve themselves.  

I have a current 3.94 GPA. I received a 1930 on my SAT with a 700 on math, a 640 on reading and a 590 on writing.  I also took 2 subject tests and received a 620 on Biology(M) and a 600 on Math II.  I have taken 2 ACTs, scoring a 28 on both and super scoring to a 29.   I'm currently considering a career in medicine and I'm looking for a school where I can really balance athletics with academics.  My preference would be a small to mid sized school in a mid sized city with a supportive community.   

My basketball goals are to have an immediate impact and have the ability to contribute all 4 years, being a role model on and off the floor and contributing to an inclusive and winning tradition.
