2014-15 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I am a three-sport athlete at Rockville High School, but my favorite sport – by far – is basketball. I am a second-generation point guard (my mom played in college), and have played the position since I was eight years old when I made my first AAU team.
I love everything about being a point guard. I love having the ball in my hands. I love setting up the offense. I love running the fastbreak. I love creating open shots for my teammates.
For me, a point guard's job is to do whatever it takes to help her team win. As a freshman starter at Rockville High, I led the team in assists and was the team's second-leading rebounder. I feel my strengths are my ball-handling, passing, court vision, understanding of the game, and unselfishness. If my team needs me to score I can, but an assist feels much better. My goal is to continue playing basketball in college and I am open to whatever opportunities come my way.
