Personal Statement

I am a three-sport scholar athlete who is interested in pursuing my passion for basketball at the college level. I have been playing three sports every year since I was four years old. I love to compete and be a part of a team where we encourage one another to be our best and where our collective efforts come together to compete at high levels and win! I have been a starting point guard on my High School Varsity team since freshman year, and I will enter this season as a Senior Captain.

My strengths include my ability to see the full court, find the open person and pass the ball with precision like a QB in football. My speed and dribbling skills allow me to steal the ball from top proponents and drive and execute on plays. My work ethic, passion for the game and excitement of being a part of a team is what drives me to succeed. I try my best to not only work hard at improving my own abilities, but at helping others as well. My favorite games have been when the team as a whole contributed to a big win.

I typically lead in assists and steals and score double digits, and I also have a relatively high vertical so I rebound well in spite of my height. I am interested in continuing to play in college as I pursue my academic and career interests. I also take pride in my academic achievements, and I have a passion for learning new things and for writing. I am entered in honors and AP course, and I maintain a high GPA. I am open to all levels of college basketball and academic programs as I explore various college options.
