Personal Statement
- I have been playing Basketball since the 4th grade. I started playing rec ball in the 3rd grade and that year I was the 3rd leading scorer in a basketball league that included over 100 girls. After rec season concluded, I played competitive travel ball and started as point guard. Our team played up a grade and won the Florida State Championship 5th grade division even though our team was only a 4th grade team. In 5th grade I played rec ball again but played up with 6th to 8th graders were I also led the league in scoring. After rec season was over I went back to travel ball and played on a 5th grade team playing the guard position (alternating between point and shooting guard). In grades 6th thru 10th, I played travel ball playing up a grade in each year starting at guard and sometimes forward. In high school, I have played Varsity Basketball since the 8th grade. I have been in the starting lineup since the 9th grade. In 10th grade, I was ranked as the top 3rd high school player in the County for 3 point shooting goals made and ranked 8th leading in my district. (Palm Beach County Players to Watch stats). While playing and handling the ball, I can see the court well and can find the open cutter. I also lead in assists on my team. I am one of the best 3 point shooters in the area. I am not just a great shooter but also a great defender. I can adjust on different defenses and play help man-to-man and once the shot goes up I understand and anticipate which direction the ball is going so I get the rebound. Basically, I have great basketball court sense and IQ as well as the skills needed to succeed.
