Rachel Thomas '17 Recruiting Profile

I started playing basketball at a very young age and I have enjoyed it ever since. When I was one year old, I received my first basketball for Christmas and rarely put it down. I played several years of recreational basketball before I started middle school basketball. I have played five years of AAU basketball. As a freshman in high school, I made the varsity team and was a starter. Over the years, I have developed the skills of driving to the basket and hitting game winning shots.

I have set very high standards for myself, and want to succeed in everything that I do. This applies to everything I do from being a student, role model to younger players, sister, daughter, and friend. I always give 110% in activities and i never give up. I always want to be successful. I want to be challenged and develop more skills on and off the court. I am a very coachable and strive to be the hardest working player on the court and want to be an inspiration to other players.

Playing college basketball and attending an institution that has rich academic tradition, has always been a dream of mine. Each day when I am in the gym, I am preparing myself for highest level of basketball, both mentally and physically.
