Personal Statement
I've always wanted to be a professional basketball player from high school. I don't want to be like anybody but even better than the professionals out there. Basketball is not just a sport. It teaches a lot of morals. I've learnt to control my emotions towards people's actions both in the game and outside the game. I encourage my teammates either we're winning or losing. I feel scolding them is discouraging so it's better to just tell them where they're getting it wrong and how to correct it. Also, there are times I feel that the referee is being biased. Using words doesn't count. If the referee is using the whistle to play the game then I use what I've got too (my game). That's a better way to react. Eating up myself on a mistake leads to nothing. Mistakes are meant to teach us to do better. So if I make a mistake, I try to correct it on my next move
I've always been an A student even with playing basketball. Somehow by God's grace, I know how to cope with my academics, playing basketball and doing other things. I know my academics is my primary assignment and every other thing follows so I try to balance it. No good grades, no basketball.
