Personal Statement
I want to study Biological Sciences, a major that US Universities are at the very top globally. My ultimate goal is to become a doctor, it is a childhood dream ever since my elementary years. I am fascinated with the idea improving public health, especially for children and minorities, and confront diseases that impact my country and globally. I believe that helping others to have a healthier life is an incredible significant contribution to the society.
I also enjoy playing basketball. Since my elementary years, I practice and play games all year around, being a member at Moraitis high school’s varsity, Panathinaikos U18 and Women’s teams. Together with my twin sister, we play more than 60 games per season in all leagues. We were undefeated National Champions U16 (2016-2017) and U18 (2017-2018), and reach National second place U18 (2018-2019). The winning streak was 85 games when playing against teams with same age athletes. I was also selected and played for the Greek National Team U18 (summer 2019).
I have chosen to use a gap year to improve my English, SAT scores and prepare myself to study to a top US School, hopefully, at the same time to be selected at its women's basketball team. This year I still play at Panathinaikos Women's team under the guidance of coach George Katzilieris.
