Personal Statement
I attended Baradene College in Auckland, New Zealand, with the intent to go overseas for a basketball scholarship, but due to wanting to study engineering, I stayed in Auckland for 1 year out of high school and attended AUT. I am currently studying mechanical engineering at AUT, but I am hoping to continue my studies overseas so I can play college basketball. I tutor mathematics as a job, and I have continued growing in basketball and 3x3 by representing Auckland, AUT, and the Auckland Dream this year. I was also selected for a basketball tour to Melbourne earlier this year where we participated in the Eltham Dandenong Tournament, placing 1st overall for U20 Womens. Not long after that I was selected for a tour through LA and Las Vegas where we participated in multiple AAU competitions, getting a good feel for what basketball is like in the United States. We placed Second at the Las Vegas tournament.
I have also started coaching basketball this year, currently coaching the u11 and u13 girls Tongan Basketball teams, where they will participate at First Nations and HoopNations, both national tournaments here in New Zealand.
My goal is to get to a Division I college, and one that will assist me with my studies preferably.
