Amy McKenzie '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amy McKenzie. I am a left-handed 5”10.5' ft Shooting Guard from Auckland, New Zealand, Class of 2026 and will graduate High School in December 2025. I currently attend Takapuna Grammar School where I play and have played in a starting position for the past 4 years in the Auckland Premier Grade, and won the Junior Girls Basketball Player of the Year and MVP at school in 2021 and 2022. I was recently appointed Captain of my varsity team for 2025. In 2024 I attended the Basketball New Zealand Secondary School National Championships (the biggest basketball competition in New Zealand) and averaged 20.9 points per game with a shooting percentage of 56.8% and an average of 8.75 3-point attempts per game at a percentage of 54.29% makes. I was also part of the U18A Team for North Harbour Basketball (New Zealand’s largest Representative Club) where I played a pivotal role, scoring an average of 17.4 points per game at the U18 National Championships with a 65.5% 2-point success rate at 6 attempts a game and an average of 8.2 three-point attempts a game at a 43% success rate. 

Academically, I'm very driven and hope to go into the engineering field of study (Aeronautical Engineering, Astrophysics, Aerospace Engineering). I currently hold a 3.9 GPA and aim to maintain or progress this over the next year.
