Personal Statement
My name is Amy McKenzie. I am a left-handed 5”10.5ft Shooting Guard from Auckland, New Zealand, Class of 2026 and will graduate high school in December 2025. I currently attend Takapuna Grammar School where I play and have played in a starting position for the past 3 years in the Auckland Premier Grade. I have also recently attended the Basketball New Zealand Secondary School National Championships (the biggest basketball competition in New Zealand) and averaged 20.9 Points per game with a shooting percentage of 56.8% and an average of 8.75 3-point attempts per game at a percentage of 54.29% makes. I am also a part of the U18A Team for North Harbour Basketball (New Zealand’s largest Representative Club) where I played a pivotal role scoring an average of 17.4 points per game at the U18 National Championships with a 65.5% 2-point success rate at 6 attempts a game and an average of 8.2 three-point attempts a game at a 43% success rate.
Academically I am very driven and hope to go into the engineering field of study (Aeronautical Engineering, Astrophysics, Aerospace Engineering). I currently hold a 3.96 GPA and aim to maintain or progress this over the next year and a half.
