Personal Statement
Playing college Basketball is a dream of mine as long as I can remember. Getting a college degree, but at the same time continuing what I love is an amazing opportunity, that I don’t want to miss.
I hope to strengthen my basketball skills in the United states and also to grow as a person. I always try to work as hard as I can to improve my weaknesses and make my strengths even better.
My basketball journey started when I was thirteen years old....I played in a small club in my hometown of Erding. And even though I played on a boys tea, I was probably the tallest and the most dominant player on the court. One day in 2017 we played against TS Jahn Munich, a bigger and more successful club. That was the day everything changed.... The Coach of Munich came to me after the game and asked me why I play here, and not for a bigger club. At this point I did not understand what his intention was. I guess because I did not know how basketball could change my life. After that day everything has gone so fast....I made the regional all star team and represented the state of Bavaria at the German State championship, where I was nominated for U16 National Team trials.
I was lucky enough to spend the last two seasons with a team (TS Jahn Munich), that had back to back U18 Final Four appearances and came up with a German U18 and U16 Championship in 2018 and a bronze medal in 2019 .
Even though I had to sit out several times during the 2019 season because of an injury, that was probably the year where I learned how to overcome obstacles and it also helped me to understand the value of being healthy and it made me appreciate the sport that I love even more.
Overall I would have never thought how big of an impact basketball can have on my life and how many possibilities it will offer me.
The best thing is, that I get to experience all these blessings with my twin sister Sarah....
