Personal Statement
I've been playing basketball since I was 6 years old and ever since hearing the amazing stories my Mother told me about her career playing college basketball at the University of Idaho, my goal has been to play and study in the USA. I have Australian and American citizenship.
Over the past few years I have been selected to represent my state, Queensland, in 3 National Championships and also at National Schools Championships where I was honored to be selected into the Australian All Schools Team.
This year I will also start playing basketball at a senior level with my club the Brisbane Spartans in the SEABL competition. This is the feeder competition for the prestigious WNBL in Australia which I also hope one day to play in at the completion of my college career.
I have worked just as hard in the classroom as I have on the court. I have been fortunate enough to attend one of the top academic schools in the state of Queensland and most likely the country. I aspire to graduate from university with a degree in the health field, something along the lines of physical therapy. So far, I have been able to attain a well rounded education and have excelled at math and science. I am in my senior year and will graduate in November 2014. I am a 2015 recruit.
On the basketball court I have a lot of versatility. I can play the 1,2,3 or 4. I am also working on improving my speed and core strength in the gym. By the time I arrive in the USA in August 2015, I feel that I will be more than ready to make a contribution.
I will be visiting the USA in late June and July 2014, on my winter school holidays, with the hope of securing a place to study and play basketball for the next 4 years. I will be based at my grandparents house in the Seattle, Washington area.
My goal is to attend a college that will allow me to achieve my full potential as a student athlete.
